PartyBrain (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the PartyBrain mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Display name, email address (if you create an account), and emoji avatar selection.
  • Game content: Answers, responses, and votes you submit during gameplay.
  • Support requests: Email address, device information, and message content when you contact support.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and a unique device identifier for anonymous authentication.
  • Game activity: Scores, rounds played, game modes used, and session timestamps.
  • Analytics data: Page views, feature usage, and performance metrics (collected via PostHog, anonymized).
  • Error reports: Crash logs and error traces (collected via Sentry) to improve app stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the game experience.
  • To process game answers through our AI system for gameplay purposes.
  • To calculate scores and display leaderboards.
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets).
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To improve the Service through anonymized analytics.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, cheating, and policy violations.

3. AI Processing of Game Content

Game answers and prompts are sent to our AI service for processing during gameplay. This is essential for game functionality (e.g., generating AI responses, scoring, content moderation).

Important: Your game content is NOT used to train AI models.

Our AI provider processes data according to their API terms, which prohibit using API inputs for model training. Game content is processed in real-time and not retained beyond the standard API processing window.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

All payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or payment details. Purchase history and subscription status are managed by RevenueCat and the respective app stores.

5. Data Retention

  • Game data (answers, scores, rounds): Retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
  • Account data (profile, email): Retained until you delete your account.
  • Analytics data: Anonymized and retained indefinitely for product improvement.
  • Support tickets: Retained for 1 year after resolution.

6. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services, solely for operating the Service. We do not sell your data to any third party.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The PartyBrain app does not use cookies. The PartyBrain website uses minimal cookies for analytics (PostHog) and does not use advertising cookies. No data is shared with advertisers.

8. Children's Privacy

PartyBrain requires users to be 13 years or older to create an account. Guest players (no account required) are automatically locked to the Family content filter. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@partybrain.app.

9. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (Settings → Account → Delete Account).
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out: Opt out of analytics tracking in app settings.
  • Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Data Security

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS. We use Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access their own data. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to registered users. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
